The institution of the Academic Advisor for Postgraduate Studies (AAPS) of the MSc Program “Atmospheric Sciences and Environment” has been in operation since the inception of the Program. The Academic Advisor is common to all postgraduate students and is appointed from among the members of the Program’s Coordinating Committee, excluding the Program Director. The Academic Advisor is appointed at the beginning of each academic year.
All details regarding the appointment process, student information, the role and responsibilities of the Academic Advisor, as well as procedures for addressing any dysfunctions and the actions undertaken to resolve them, are provided in the relevant document. In summary, the Academic Advisor guides and supports postgraduate students throughout their studies. Through scheduled meetings—especially with first-year students, but also with all postgraduate students—the Advisor provides information on academic matters and future career prospects and facilitates students’ integration into postgraduate studies. Particular care is also taken to support students facing serious family, personal, or other difficulties that may hinder the successful completion of their studies. Academic and administrative staff support the Academic Advisor in this role, while special attention is paid to the protection of students’ personal data and confidentiality, which continues even after the Advisor’s term of office ends.
